Goods In/Out Assistant

Towcester

PART TIME 16 hours per week Mondays and Fridays

We are looking to recruit an additional member to our team within our family run engineering business. This person will be the face our customers associate with Sandwell and will continue the excellent customer relationships established by our current reception team. With support and training this role will shape up to include:

  • Face to face contact with customers and delivery drivers at reception. Taking receipt of automotive and other components that require one of the range of metal finishing processes we offer.
  • Booking jobs out and ensuring the customer is provided with correct paperwork
  • Preparing daily consignments for dispatch using designated courier service.
  • Checking goods received against purchase orders/delivery notes. This can include checking quantities, part number, getting digital images of parts received, and often requires gathering missing information from the customer.
  • Inputing purchase orders onto software system to produce job sheets: this crucial task will pull together all instructions to allow our technicians to process in accordance to customers’ requirements.
  • Gather information from Accounts Assistance and Production Manager to identify correct pricing and date required for correct scheduling.
  • Take incoming phone calls when required.

This is a busy and varied role and one that is essential to the day to day smooth running of the business. Currently we are a team of approximately 40 people and we anticipate this will grow to meet the expanding needs of our customers who com predominantly from the motorsport and high end engineering sectors. If you like being busy and meeting people; if you have experience of – or an interest in – the world of motorsport or engineering in general, this could be the job for you.

Amongst the skills and characteristics we are looking for are the following:

  • A friendly approach and ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Good basic IT skills
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise, and to respond to frequently changing priorities. Confidence to liaise with colleagues and customers, by phone, email or in person
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Pride in your work and complete integrity
