Accreditations

As of October 2018 Sandwell’s quality management system has been certified to the AS9100D & BS EN ISO 9001:2015 standard though it’s auditor NQA.

This is a quality management framework where an organisation needs to:

• Demonstrate its ability to consistently deliver the specified product or service that meets customer demands, as well as applicable regulatory requirements
• Have the aim to enhance customer satisfaction by implementing the system effectively. This includes continual improvement of both the system and processes, as well as on going conformity to applicable legislation.

A quality management standard for the aviation, space, and defence industries, AS9100D was obtained in response to customer requests and to aid On Time Delivery and direct the company towards continuous improvement. The system also has emphasis on:

• Having a greater emphasis on Risk Management
• Introducing “Special Requirements”
• Introducing “Critical Items”
• Incorporating requirement conformance measures
• Incorporating delivery performance measures
• Adopting Proven Product Development Processes
• Eliminating “recurring corrective actions”

This system enables Sandwell to better support its current customers in the motorsport, automotive, aviation, and defence industries and to pursue new opportunities with companies who require Shot Peening and Surface Engineering services at the elevated levels of quality and performance that the standard requires.

All Sandwell quality systems are UKAS certified and approved.

To demonstrate their continued commitment to quality, Sandwell UK Ltd have been successful in achieving Nadcap^® accreditation for Surface Enhancement.

“This accreditation has been a long time coming says Colin McGrory Technical Director, it’s something we always wanted to achieve and whilst we have always operated to very high standards to pass such a stringent audit set to global aerospace standards is a great achievement for the whole company”

Within a year of moving into their purpose built facility and during one of the toughest years for a generation with the upheaval that Covid has brought about Sandwell still managed to work through all of this to gain their Nadcap accreditation.

Nadcap is a global process approval system devised by Airbus, Boeing, Rolls Royce, GE Aviation, Bombardier, Lockheed and many other aerospace companies to ensure the highest level of quality and conformance within the aerospace industry.

The aim of the Nadcap^® program is to assess process capability for compliance to industry standards and customer requirements. By achieving Nadcap^® accreditation, Sandwell UK Ltd has demonstrated their compliance.

Sandwell have been audited and added to the approved supplier list of various motorsport and high performance engineering companies, including the majority of the teams making up the Formula One grid.
