SALARY IN REGION OF £10.45 – £11.45 PER HOUR (DEPENDING UPON EXPERIENCE)
FULL TIME DAY SHIFT (39 HOURS PER WEEK). 25 DAYS ANNUAL LEAVE + BANK HOLIDAYS
Sandwell provides shot peening and surface finishing of parts for customers from motorsport, aerospace and other sectors. Shot peening is a process of impacting the surface of metal components, using very small shot (referred to as ‘media’). It is undertaken at high speed/high air pressure – all safely contained within special peen cabinets. The process adds technical benefits to metal components, improving their efficiency and strength. Other surface finishes undertaken at Sandwell include specialist painting (hand sprayed and oven cured coatings), water bead blasting, chemical blacking etc.
We are looking to recruit someone to be part of our busy workshop team within our family run engineering business in Towcester. The post holder will work on a range of processing tasks as directed by the Production Manager in response to workload demands and could include any of the finishing processes.
Some experience of working within an engineering environment, would be an advantage as would any familiarity with our processes or our main customer sectors. However this is not essential and full training would be provided.
This is a busy, varied role within a workplace where health and safety awareness is key. Whilst any relevant experience within an engineering environment would be beneficial, the skills and characteristics we are mostly looking for are as follows:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Manager to join our Quality Department. They will manage and lead a small supportive quality team to integrate quality department activities into the core operations of the company. They will develop and manage the quality control and quality assurance procedures, ensuring contract requirements are met and as part of the company’s management team they will help to drive continuous improvements throughout the workplace.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing people within a quality department. They should have thorough understanding of quality standards; ISO9001 / AS9100 / NADCAP and experience of the audit process.
Experience of any of Sandwell’s activities would be advantageous but training and support during an induction period would be provided as necessary to the successful candidate.
