Shot Peening
Shot peening is a method of introducing compressive stress into the surface of a material.
This compressive stress can be introduced by the mechanical impact of different types of spherical shot impacting a surface. The impact from shot peening needs to be sufficient to plastically deform the surface at a microscopic level in order to modify the energy state in the component outer surface.
Sandwell has a range of Robotic and Multi Axis machines to provide the highest level of process control and repeatability. Nadcap accreditation and AS9100 quality approval ensures the highest level of quality with fast turnaround times whether a single part or multi batch quantities.
At Sandwell, Shot Peening is one of our specialties.
