The recent acquisition of an FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) 3D printer allows us to quickly create bespoke tooling and masking to match our customers’ requirements.
We have carried out extensive testing of a variety of polymeric materials and build parameters to find those which can stand up to the processes Sandwell offer (for example shot peening and bead blasting).
Bespoke tooling and/or masking can be produced from a customer’s CAD file, or drawing. Where these are not available, in the case of legacy components, the process can be used in combination with Sandwell’s in house 3D scanning facility.
